Good Morning everyone! I pray God’s amazing blessings on you as you go about your day, breaking the back of the enemies strongholds! Hahaha…Sorry. I do pray a blessing of strength on you today though. I mean, if you’re out there doing that, don’t stop! Anyway, grab your coffee and let’s chat for a minute…
Adam couldn’t do it.
Noah couldn’t do it
Moses couldn’t do it
King David couldn’t do it.
John the Baptist couldn’t do it
And now we want Superman. Batman…anyone… Somebody save us!
Maybe they are only on the screen and in our imaginations (Superman and Batman), but in our hearts we want them to be real. We want someone to swoop in and save us!
But all these “saviors” have one thing in common. One simple flaw. They, at best, can only save the flesh. A real superman would be able to transcend that issue and save us for all time. There is only one true “Superman.” He had supernatural abilities but His saving came at the cost of His own flesh and blood. And His journey to save mankind wasn’t a journey meant to stop the bad guy. He wasn’t here to feed the five thousand. He wasn’t here to raise Lazarus. He wasn’t here to heal the diseased. He was just so awesome, that, even though He came to save us for all eternity, He also healed the sick and the lame and raised the dead and…well, it goes on and on. And, indeed, it does go on and on through us.
We lose sight sometimes of why this Supernatural Man was actually here. No, He didn’t leap tall buildings in a single bound. No one said, “Look, up in the sky, it’s Jesus!” Well, maybe as He ascended into Heaven…Mmmmm.
Okay, lets stay focused. Jesus was the only “real” super hero that ever existed. Because He’s the only one that can really save us. Forever. The enemy will be squashed and stopped for good and you and I can live for eternity.
I guess when it comes down to it, we don’t need a Superhero, we need a King…
